Competent Person Training: Frame Scaffolding – Calgary (March 8th)

Scaffold & Access Industry Association’s (SAIA) CPT Scaffold Frames is intended for workers who erect scaffold frames either professionally or as a medium to accomplish their work at heights. This class is divided into three components: self-study, in class review, hands on installation of frames and testing.

After signing up for the course students will receive training modules for review at home. They are to study the modules and complete the questions prior to attending the classroom portion of the training.

The first portion of the one-day classroom session includes a review of the modules with an experienced instructor who will explain or elaborated on the material as the students require. The second portion of the one-day classroom session involves a demonstration and practical component where students erect and dismantle a frame scaffold.

After the classroom theory and hands on practical are complete a written exam is administered. Students who pass this evaluation will receive a wallet card, from the SAIA and Vertical Access, showing successful completion of the course. This training is valid for three years to keep students up to date on the most current legislation.

The learning objectives of CPT: Frame Scaffolding course are to ensure that students demonstrate an understanding of the following:

  • Scaffold Foundations
  • Scaffold Stabilization
  • Guard Rail Requirements and Fall Protection
  • Erection and Dismantling Procedures
  • Regulations and Guidelines

Course Costs

The cost for the CPT: Frame Scaffolding – Vertical Access Ltd course is $379.00 plus GST per student.

This price includes: All student materials including manuals and other instructional materials, scaffolding equipment and administration costs for the examination and training certification.

Course Requirements:

Students attending this course are required to have a valid Fall Protection Training.

To complete the hands on elements of the course students must also bring the following PPE: Hard Hat, Steel Toe Boots, Safety Glasses, Gloves, Harness and Lanyard. Fall protection equipment can be purchased from our web store and picked up at the class for use in the practical elements of the training.
